Sometimes we all need a little reminder to get out of our own heads – especially when in job search during the interview process. One of Angee’s favorite books is Don Miguel Ruiz’s The Four Agreements. In this podcast, Angee talks about how those four lessons can make the interview process a little less stressful.

  1. Be impeccable with your words: Never use your words against yourself or others. Don’t diminish or embellish how you tell your story when interviewing. Share examples of your work in a clear and concise way that is interesting and informative.
  2. Don’t take things personally: This is easier said than done – but especially in the interview process it’s tough to keep in mind if being rejected for a job.
  3. Don’t make assumptions: We all do it – decide in our heads all the reasons someone hasn’t gotten back to us in a timely manner. This one will change your life if you can let it go.
  4. Always do your best: And your best will change when healthy or sick. But if you do your best throughout the interview process, you’ll have no regrets.
